I saw A3 in VA
I saw my first A3 yesterday, in the US that is. On the service road outside
Dulles airport. From the front I thought it was an A4, but took a second look
as it seemed smaller. I followed it for a couple of miles along the access road
as it turned off to Herndon. It had VA plates, custom number, and still had an
outline for the narrow rectangular German plate. No markings whatsoever except
for the 4 rings on the grill. Looks like a Civic from the rear and an A4 from
the front. Seems more substantial than a Golf. I prefer the S6+ (VBG)
Question is, how did it get here, and why is it registered to VA if AoA is in
the Midwest. Is it grandfathered under Fed regs by the A4 or the Golf?
