RE: Biting the A4 bullet. . . maybe and A8 impression
I have a '97 1.8T quattro, and know about ten others in the Toronto area
with A4s, mostly '97 A4 1.8Ts.
Mine is less than two months old, but has had zero problems -- unless
you count the pervasive brake dust as a real problem (no, the brakes
don't squeal). Others have been similarly trouble-free. As for the
brake pads, I'll probably replace them sometime in the next few months
to get rid of the dust.
