Yes it is. The g50 is a Synthetic gear oil GL-4.

Note! the front gear is not a hypoid gear. Thats why it specs a GL-4. Do
not use a GL-5.Also the G50 oil is $25 a quart . :-(     If you want a
good Sythetic other than the audi G50, Use Redline MT90.
