Cooling fan after shutoff - UPDATE

This morning I discovered that when my cooling fan comes on after I shut
down the motor, if I turn the ignition back to the "on" position, the
fan shuts off.

Do I have something wired incorrectly?  Perhaps a certain speed of my
fan is not coming on with the ignition on, but rather only when it's off
because of some reversed wires.

Anyone know?
