A4 AVANT WITH 3 PEDALS ON THE FLOOR

(I don't know if this has been discussed on Quattro list; gave up reading
it in order to get a life - way too big nowadays).

I originally heard that the A4 Avant (station wagon to us 'Murricans) was
only to be available with a wimp stick.  Fortunately, this isn't the case.  A
friend of mine recently placed an order with a dealer for one equipped with
a 5-speed manual.

He said that dealer said that at first, Audi will be sending each dealer one 
copy, and that at first ALL of them will be wimp sticks.  After some period
of time (I believe he's expecting delivery approx. Nov.), the good trannys
(5 speed manuals) will be available on the Avant.  Also, apparently same 
options will be available on Avant as sedan (i.e., incl. Sport suspension).
