While I sort of agree with your comments, I'm also puzzled by them.
Personally, I've never been happy with the OEM suspension on ANY car I've
ever owned -- BMW, Mercedes or Audi -- but modifying it to my tastes isn't a
big deal.  Ditto for the OEM wheels/tires ... it doesn't matter what the
factory installs since I'll always replace them regardless.  Detuned engines
are another matter altogether, though...
