RE: spin direction on tires (no Audi content)

Over the last three weeks whilst my Ur-q has been awaiting its head transplant 
I have been using my mothers Rover Metro. The car needs a run every so often 
cos both my parents are now retired any tend to use my dads volvo. Anyway, I 
noticed a marked pull to the left, quizzed my mother, no she hadnt noticed it 
and hadnt hit anything. I checked the steering, no problems. Took it to have 
the alignment checked, same thing, no problem. Tonight I got underneath to 
check the subframes, still nothing wrong, until I went to put the front right 
hand wheel back on. The tyre has distorted, and is now almost conical in 
section. The outside wall is over half an inch higher than the inside wall. 
The rotation is over 3 inches further on one side of the tyre than the other, 
no wonder the car is pulling.
