My 87 5KCST started doing the warning light after start up soon after I
bought it. I asked the dealer where I got the car, Stammler Porsche
Audi, about the symptom and they said it was bleed down of the
accumulator and was very expensive to fix. Their advice was: "if the
brakes are working OK don't worry about it". I've been driving the car
with this characteristic for roughly 150,000 miles with no problem. It
is getting more frequent as time goes on and I'll probably be replacing
the bomb in the future but Stammler's advice has gotten me a long way
without spending my hard earned money.
