Re[2]: Schrappnell Knobben (R)eport

Graydon, You inquire:

Did you find any adverse side affects as a result of the long lines to
and from the regulator?

I haven't seen any side affects. I have had the reg. next to the W/G and inside
and can't tell any diff. I think since the reg. isn't flowing any volumn of air
the response time is about the same. For the regulator suppply I teed into the
ECU suppply inside the car, that way I only had to run one line to the W/G. I
found some hard plastic tubing (1/4 in. I think) that fit the ID of the vacuum
hose and I snaked it through a rubber gromet in the passenger side footwell.

I also have found temperature extremes to really influence boost, but I
always figured it was more than just the regulator. I figured at low
ambients, that the intercooler was working better, the air was denser in
the first place, and so the resultant manifold pressure was higher.

I have seen the same but have never been able to quantify if it was from heating
up of the regulator itself or just the I/C as you mwntioned. I do know that my
boost gage stays pretty much in the 14.5 to 15 psi range with this summer
weather.

P.S. Say Graydon have you ever done an ignition switch? Can't seem to figure out
how to remove, short of a sawzall with a metal blade and just cut the damn thing
out!! I currently have a the ignition switch re-wired with an additional switch
hangind down to activate the starter - not very professional!!!
