(Bay Area) Coastal Performance (was Re: Timing belt replaced (pics available))

The "Beast" (http://www.lupus.com/quattro/) is back on the road
since last Friday. It's a long story, but in the end I am satisfied with
Coastal performance's work. I am guessing that Guy left Audi in 1990 and
was therefore unfamiliar with certain aspects of the the somewhat rare
'91 200 q. He did not charge for labor on the wheel bearing that he miss
diagnosed although he did charge a discounted $60 for the bearing
itself. He did not charge for tightening the squeeking hydrolic pump
belt or the squeeking alternator belt. (Of course he should have set the
tension correctly in the first place.)
I met Gerry who is at least a part owner in the Santa Cruz Brewery and
he had only good things to say about Coastal. He is as Mike V. thought,
a quattro enthusiast. I think he said he has an '84 q that has been
bored and stroke to 2.4 liters. Maybe we can get him to host a get
together at the Brewery sometime.

P.S. I ran into a gent at UCSC that remembered me from 10 years ago. He
said to me "Is that your Audi? That's the nicest looking Audi I have
ever seen!" So I guess there is another vote for the 200 body style
being timelessly cool.
