O2 sensor in 4K

Audi'ites,
I am going to pick up a new O2 sensor for my '86 4KCSQ.  I was hopeful that
some of you have already done this procedure and can give me any warnings
before I dig into this project.
Is the sensor easy to get to?  Do I need a special tool to remove/replace
the sensor?  As the sensor is probably original, is it safe to assume that I
may need some heat in order to loosen it?
