4K A/C charge

Audi'ites,
Today I tackled the heater core project.  Definitely not the easiest thing
to get to, and my a/c charge had to be sacrificed in order to slide the
evaporator forward enough to gain access the core itself.
Although the winter months are just around the bend, I know that I will be
getting my a/c recharged in the spring/summer of next year.  I was wondering
if anyone can tell me what type of refrigerant I should be asking for and if
it will be available to me when the time comes (sorry, I'm ignorant of these
things).
If a conversion is necessary, I will live without the a/c.

Oh yeah, I did the 02 sensor as well today and did not have to drop any of
the exhaust to gain acess.
No more wandering idle, pinging under load, bogging down.  I bought the
sensor from a Bosch dealer and saved over $100 dollars from the local dealer.
A great day for the 4K, and we can't wait for that first snowfall.
