Hot air!

Thank you for those of you who responded to my "no hot air" post the
other day.  I found the culprit last night.  The air vent door motor was
stuck in the outside air position, not allowing hot air from the core to
mix in with it.  Apparently, this motor is a common problem in numerous
90, 100, A4 and A6 models with the automatic climate control.  Even
after freeing it, I'm not convinced it's working right.  Nothing seems
to be jamming it since the arm leading from it is free to move.  I think
Audi may have underengineered this piece.  One problem is that you have
to disassemble the entire passenger side dash to replace it. :>(
