The only illegal thing about removing the airbag would be if your
insurance company was giving you a discount for having it, and you
  removed it without telling them.

The problem that I've ran into on my '92 S4, when I went to put a MOMO
steering wheel on, is that MOMO does not make a hub that fits
correctly. They won't consider making one, either, citing liability
  concerns.

Speaking of this, does anyone know a shop that could make me a large
bronze washer? I need this as part of my plan to fit the MOMO wheel.

  Thanks!
