RE: New member / Reliability w/ the 1.8T



The 1.8T engine was dyno tested in Germany at 190hp. Rumour has it that
the engine was detuned not to create too much competition for
(significantly more expensive) V6 models (possibly to make the car fit
into cheaper insurance group, too). Even if the durability of the engine
is slightly reduced with performance mods, I doubt if it has much effect
on the turbocharger itself.
