If Audi doesn't request the old part back, or they decline
to replace it and I have to buy another one, it's yours.
I've tried the route of replacing the high pressure
Pento$in hoses (on the 5KS) by fitting the old ends onto
new hose, and the hoses started to seep less than a year
later. Bit the bullet and bought the Audi hoses, about
four years now without a leak.

I suspect that the hose they sold me for the V8Q was probably
sitting on a shelf somewhere since 1989.

 JK> yourself.

Yeah, I might be prepared for it after I finish doing the
timing belt. ;) It's been a week and a half now, and no word
from Audi yet when the "sliding block" I ordered will
arrive so I can finish doing the timing belt.
How much would it have cost to stamp that damn tensioning
fork "This side Twords Engine" and saved me from this
headache. I still can't believe I put that damn thing on
     backwards.

     BCNU,

PS: Did anyone else besides Randall get a recall notice for
the cruise control? I haven't received anything from A of A.
