Well, they're not actually vise grips - it's a pair of what we call
water pump pliers or footprints, about a foot long.  And you don't need
to grip the injector at all - just close the jaws on the injector, so
that they are up against the fuel line's flare nut.  Then lever the
side of the jaws gently against away from the cam cover using a large
screwdriver - the jaws push against the flare nut and 'lift' the
injector out.
