Loud Clicking noise

It's a common problem, more usually described as a 'ticking', and it's usually 
slightly louder on an engine that's warming back up again after standing for an 
hour or so.  The only cure is a new (preferably two-piece) manifold, and the 
job can be expensive because the securing studs often break off when you come 
to remove it.
