Define longevity: street miles of service or track laps of performance?
The Repcos will be OK for the first lap. By the second lap, those
"slag masters" will have heated above their operating temperature and
will have lost their coefficient of friction, i.e. bigtime fade. If you press
on regardless, they will melt away entirely in 10 or 15 laps.
On the other hand, race pads - meaning they are designed to operate
properly at elevated temperatures - are generally hard on rotors and
produce loads of dust as well. But for fun on the track, ya gotta have 'em.
The ideal situation is to own two sets of front pads: Pagid, etc., for
track days, Repco, etc., for street. If you care to go to a little extra
trouble, you could keep an extra set of slotted rotors to swap in and
out along with your track day pads.
