I think the 1B engine is very similar to the MB engine in the 1988 ur-quattro.

Someone turned up at the Area K meeting (Buckinghamshire) last Thursday with
one that was mis-behaving - a 'fuel injection expert' had told him he needed a
new metering head for GBP800-odd. In fact, the WOT switch had gone home to
Daddy - GBP15. Took nearly an hour to find because of several other problems -
wrong fuel pump relay, etc.

These are the MAC connections for the MB engine - plus the vacuum pipe, natch:

The ECU is connected to the wiring harness via a
latch- and-swing connector. With the ECU
removed from the vehicle, the wiring harness
connector should be viewed with the plastic
prongs on the right and the locating lugs along
the side of the connector at the top. The upper
left pin is Pin 1, with numbering proceeding
along the connector to Pin 18 at the top right.
The bottom row is also numbered from left to
right, from Pin 19 to Pin 35.
