Question: A4 quattro tires in snow

hi folks,

my wife and i recently ordered an A4 quattro to replace her car.
i ordered the sports package. this comes with dunlop SP8000 tires
instead of the all-season michelins.

my question: is there anybody who lives around new england with
SP8000s on their A4 quattro? if you do, how good/bad is it to
drive in snow? we get a lot of snow during the winter months here.
from my personal experience with FWD-car shod with SP8000s, these
tires are useless in snow (great grip on dry roads though).

i've never owned a quattro before, but i'm thinking of getting
a set of all-seasons (dunlop SP4000?) instead of snow tires for
winter. this way, i don't need to have 2 sets of wheels+tires
for the quattro. we have pirelli A210Ps for snows now, but these
tires are not exactly good handling tires when there's no snow
on the road.

any recommendations? ideas?

thanks.
