I have had two sets of T/A's - ZRs on a BMW and VR4s on my V8. Both are
aboslutely great tires. The VR4 has been good for 35k - pretty impressive.
Dry and wet are excellent with little give in cornering (and that's a heavy
car) using 215/60-15. With the VR4, snow performance is really impressive
for a non M+S tire.
Last winter I made maybe 10 round trips to northern Vermont for skiing and
never had a problem in any condition (but that's a quattro for you). They
are not *real* snow tires, though, so don't rely on them if you're up to the
waist in it all winter long. Braking power on snow/ice is the weak link.
One criticism is that they are not that quiet. You will get some annoying
sounds on various road surfaces.
All said, it's alot of tire for the money, which isn't that much given what
you can spend if you really put your mind to it.
