Jeff, are you sure it is the motor? With the sunroof tilted open, make a
very carefull check for broken lifter(s). Or you cable may need cleaning
and relubing. I just went through taking a sunroof out and back in due to
a broken lifter. The roof acted just as you are describing it in your post.
