Begging to differ, but automatic transmissions are usually *cooled* by the engine
coolant. Hence bigger radiators, usually, on auto vehicles. I may be full of
*** but on my F250 the transmission fluid even has an auxiliary cooler on it's
way to the radiator. I think Audi does it the other way, piping coolant into the
transmission rather than trns fluid into part of the radiator.

BTW I used to own an auto 83 5kt, the tranny survived a massive "landing" impact,
but went south a couple of years later. (car about 6 years old then, maybe 100k
miles, cost $1300 to put in rebuilt one at AAMCO) I'd look up the exact details
but I can't access DOS programs while Netscrape's latest is running... Drove
that car for 6-1/2 years, if I'd known about this list when the wastegate finally
stuck open four years ago maybe I'd still be driving it.
