I think you're misinterpreting here.  Igor is probably
referring to the chromed-plastic 4-ring Audi logo at the center
of the sport wheel (which I would consider "brightwork"), and the
dimples that you speak of are "decorative hex screws", in the sense
that they are meant to be suggestive of hex screws.

When I first considered buying the sport wheel, I thought that these
two features, particularly the hex screw dimples, were extremely
ugly.  I bought the wheel anyway, as I really liked the feel. I've
grown to like the look of the wheel as well, but I can imagine the
new wheel looking better to me if these have really been eliminated.
