Re: Motor blown on my 4kcsq :-(
Bummer, but BTDT, twice :)
Here are your options:
a) replace the motor with stock motor, about $1000
b) replace motor with turbo motor, about $4-6000
c) replace the car, about $2000 minus $700 for old one
All prices are estimates assuming you will not do any
of the labor. $2000 will get you a clean 4kq in most places,
a higher mile one will run you even less, but will need work.
If for some reason it turns out that you need a head, I have
one sitting in the garage. And if you're thinking of replacing
it, I am still tossing around the idea of selling my 84 4kq
in favor of a 87 5kcsqw that is going to be up for sale around
here soon. The 84 is of course an 84, but has an 86 engine
with about 115k on it now. It's almost perfect, except for
cosmetics. I'll keep you posted if you're interested.
