Headlight woes, '84 5k

Hello fellow Q-heads.  In an '84 5kS, I've installed a set of
high-output low beams.  Ever since, when the headlights are on, the dash
warnings come on telling me I've got a burned out headlamp.  I'm
assuming this is due to teh wrong voltage being used by teh newer higher
output headlamps (which, incedentally, don't really seem to have
improved a thing.)  Is there a way to hook up the new lamps in such a
way that the computer isn't tripped by the wrong voltage or whatever,
but still have it report when a lamp is truely out?  Many thanks...
