Copper huh?  Any reason for not using PVC or just availability?

I think I'm going to try a 2 piece marine epoxy. Worked like a charm
on my ski boat to resecure the U-bolts to which the tow strap
attaches. It is rock hard, set in about 45 minutes, fully cured in 24
hours and doesn't mind moisture during curing.

I'll let you/the list know how it works
