Yes, that's 2142 -- *Knock Sensor I*.

My Bentley sez:

1.
CAUSE OF FAULT: (G61) loose
EFFECT: Increased fuel consumption
CORRECTIVE MEASURE: Tightening torque 10Nm (7ft.lb)

2.
CAUSE OF FAULT: Disconnect or short between (G61) and (J88) Ignition Control
Unit
EFFECT: Power defficiency
CORRECTIVE MEASURE: Determine disconnect or short per wiring diagramm and
eliminate

3.
CAUSE OF FAULT: (G61) defective
EFFECT: --
CORRECTIVE MEASURE: Replace (G61)

4.
CAUSE OF FAULT: (J88) defective
EFFECT: --
CORRECTIVE MEASURE: Replace (J88)

a)I would check the wiring/connectors first coz they are the first logical
step.
b) I would then connect a multimeter (a sensitive range of it's voltmeter,
that is) across the Knock Sensor and smack the block with a hammer to see if
the Sensor gives out any output (it's built around a piezoelectric crystall).

If a) and b) fail -- proceed to diagnosting the more expensive component (J88)

Tracy, if I may offer an advice:
I would not approach the CIS and/or wiring of a 200 without a 3-volume Bentley
and a good multimeter in hand.

Good luck.
