Asolutely correct.

The *overly complicated solution* is to go to your local Pep Toys and invest 
$3.99 in a Japanese (Toyota-?) clear plastic in-line fuel filter. Any filter will 
do, just make sure that both spouts more-or-less match the Audi vac hose I.D. and 
that they are located on one side of the filter, so it'll act as a trap for oil.
Replace it when it is 1/2 full. Works like a dream on my Audis since '92. No 
problems with the solenoid valves either.

Wonder if this makes me an *experienced Audi mechanic* ;)
