i just picked up a SS hose clamp kit at harbor freight tools.
it includes a few screw adjuster mechanisms and a 3m roll of 8mm
"threaded" metal strap.  about $4-5.
the heavy duty size is 11mm wide, don't remember the length.
looks like a perfect way to make an intercooler-sized hose clamp.
