You might want to stop by my website... I am building a 2wd mid-engine
sports car, using the Audi 5000 FWD transaxle as the, well, transaxle :)
Plug and play, after one makes the appropriate 1/4" thick steel
engine/transaxle adaptor.
But I'm using a GM FWD 3.8L engine... since the EFI stuff is the same as on
the phenominal Grand National - another plug and play idea.
Things got real cheap when I found a running 1986 Buick LeSabre with
digital dash, front tilting hood, and all that look-pretty stuff that will
be adaptable.

So, I'm using the Buick Engine, GM S10 front spindles (2wd for front and
4wd for the rear), Audi 5000 Transaxle, Ford Taurus Steering Column (have a
lead on a Lincoln one with all the buttons) and Ford Steering Rack, RCI
shocks, homemade fiberglass body, with rear-tilting area to cover the
engine/transaxle, and finally, 1970 Lincoln Continental tail lights <G>.
All this will be registered and called a "Porsche 962" <smile>.
