Don't be too quick to spend that kind of money.  You may just have 
a lot of condensation or a carbon track in your distributor cap.  I've
also
had the black plastic cap over dist. cap and interference shield trap
moisture and lead to bad running condition.  Check these, as well
as ignition wires first.
