Hey, I heard an interesting fact about vacuum tubes a while back.
It goes like this. The biggest consumer of vac. tubes in the world
is the U.S. govt. It seems that a few of its less important entities
are still using primarily vac. tube computers. The one I remember
from that list was Air Traffic Controllers.
The flip side of this fact is that the only major manufacturer of
vac. tubes is in Poland.
Do you know anything about this Aleksander?
I don't know if any of this is true but I found it interesting and
it seems to fit the discussion.
