Re: audistuff: seat heater, rear defogger
Seat heat is pretty easy to diagnose since the usual culprit is the seat
cushion element. Both elements (back and seat) are in series on all
models, I believe, but separate cables come into the 6 point plug.
Likely failure point is the driver door side of the seat cushion. I
just fixed this one myself on the 90 V8. Not a really bad job if you
are brave enough to tear the whole seat apart and pull off the covering
or leather. I even had the leather repaired at the bead where most of
the seats seem to fail. You can certainly check for power to the seat
with a VOM if you have schematics.
