Paul,

I was just about to post a variant of that problem: in my '91 200q, the
front seat heaters _both_ work, but no heat in either of the rears. BTW,
were you referring to front or rear "passenger" for the working heater in
your car (assuming 87 5k has front/rearseat heaters?)
