88 200T ecu check? where is it?



Hello fellow listers,

	I've an 88 200T auto with a KG engine and a MAC-05 ECU, and I'm hoping 
someone can help me out there?

I've a couple of problems, first unlike most other listers (or so it seems) 
I'm a little short on equipment under the bonnet (hood). The fuel pump relay 
that everyone keeps talking about doesn't have a place to put a fuse in! so I 
can't get the codes out<g>, so all I can do is now watch the disco lights on 
the dash board, instead of fixing it! It also appears that my car is not 
fitted with the O2 sensor, also I can't find the valve for the waste gate. All 
there appears to be is a pipe coming from the top of the wastegate going to 
nowhere.. it simply stops in mid engine bay? (I think Mr Laforge would liken 
it to a temporal warp where all the extra parts are sucked into another 
reality ?maybe an MC reality?) 

As a whole, the car runs very well, but has recently suffered a drop in MPG 
(by 8MPG overall), and is becoming a little bit of a pump hog! I know that my 
right foot can be a little on the heavy side, but that's a different story!

I would like to get a little more oomph from the engine, ( after reading the 
manuals and posts, it appears that the auto boxes were boost restricted) and 
have been considering putting the manual box WG spring in. Would I also have 
to put a manual ECU in or do I keep the same? Does anyone have any information 
on the Hitachi parts used??

P.S. In the manuals it states that the 1B engine is 191bhp, KG is 174bhp and 
the MC is 157bhp. Which Audi had the 1B engine?
