About the whippin' I been takin' :)
Phil, I decided to post again after that silly assed comment about verbose Americans. :) You Euro boys crack me up.
My comments about the RS2 have apparently caused some [many by private e-mail] to want to correct me. Fine. But a few facts, ok? (1) Some sellers of the RS2 were putting the turbo in cars with the Stage II box. If that was a wrong fit, it should not have been done. I don't own an RS2, nor do I sell them. All I reported was what I felt, and it was more lag than I want in my car. (2) When you modify the already expensive RS2, you no longer have the RS2 [Scott?]. Modifying a turbo is no different than modifying anthing else. If you bore and stroke a Mopar 440, you no longer have a 440. Seems pretty obvious.
Somehow I have been heaped onto a stack that seems fun to shoot at via the computer. That is fine. But, if my posts are read before responses are fired, you will see that all I have offered to do is post up the mods I make to my car, in detail, when it is finished [spring--hopefully]. What more can be done? If I can find a dyno for the 4 wheeler, I will be happy to sign the check--btdt. When the car is finished I will also be happy to put it on the track. No problem there. As for what is fast and what is not, it is all relative. If I wanted another race car, I damned sure would not be putting my money in something as heavy as this Audi. But, based on my experience with very quick cars [none turbo---already admitted] when I get the ride that I got, and I see egt's as low as I saw, plus no cursed detonation, the light in my head comes on. If you had outrageous CR, as has been inferred, you will not see the readings I saw.
As for needing my ass calibrated and pants zipped up, Scott, I have no idea what you are talking about. You are trying to sell a product, I have no beef with that. But, personal barbs? I'm just here to learn and visit.
Remember, we can all be wrong. Wasn't but a few days ago that 500+ cfm was being tossed around based on "math". Funny, that number is now down in the 400's. Which, when combined with the low egt's, makes it sound like maybe someone is on to something after all, huh? Goodness, could it be that someone is actually coming up with something that we could all benefit from? Maybe if we listen we will find out.
