Dead '87 5ktq
Do to a oil cooler line failure, my 87
5ktq would appear to be dead. I get a
low oil pressure warning at 2800 rpm
(high pressure switch) and horrible
knocking sounds that start at 2200 rpm.
I am assuming that the bottom end is
history.
The question is what do I do now.
I am considering a new A4 1.8 to replace
the 5k and my 92 Corrado. What is the 5k
worth in as is condition considering the
following:
124,000 miles
new brake pads, rotors, braided lines,
rebuilt rear calipers, new accumulator
Needs: park brake cable and A/C service
Should I repair and what are my options?
Help!!
