I can't speak for the V8, but the bomb replacement on my '89 100Q
was a piece of cake. About 10 minutes up on a lift. It would be
easy (but not quite as easy) to do it with the car on the ground.
I don't know about used; how much longer will it last? How much longer
will you keep the car? I sold my 18 month old used one (it turned out
after replacing it that it wasn't the problem) for $50. If you can
get one for that, OK. Blaufergnugen sells new ones for $250 or so.
