I asked this question when I was at an engine rebuilder a few months back,
in my case it was a MB engine. The guy replied that Audi I5's have had
hard valve seats since at least the late 70's and my engine would come
to no harm. Whether it would actually run on lead-free was another question,
and he recommended using an octane booster if using standard ul.

I assume you keep on top of the oil changes for the 2600, that block
mounted oil restrictor is one of the most stupid articles ever devised -
one piece of dirt and the non-return valve becomes non-flow as well
and then you kiss goodbye to the cam, the valves, the head.....
