RE: Tensioner?



On all Audi 5cyl engines the timing belt is tensioned by twisting the
water pump. However, some engines have additional pulley which is
sometimes called a "tensioner". I can't say if your 4K has one, but it's
easy to see if you remove the timing belt cover. If you have one, it
should be replaced together with the belt, as it has a tendecy to seize
over time.
