Hi!
I understand that adding automatic transmission fluid to the oil about
50km before the oil change (or 15 minutes engine running at fast idle)
does the same cleaning job as using the engine flush stuff. Also,
another
way is to go directly over to synthetic and change the oil about 3,000km
after that as the synthetics have a cleaning property unlike the organic
type. This is what I'm trying anyway, upon information from this list.
I'm putting in Duckhams QS 5W40. I *will* be changing to another type
when I can get out of this stupid town! They have nothing here, the
other type of oil is Castrol SLX which is a mere US$15 per litre! :)
