A more accurate way of measuring a car's power to weight vis-a-vis its
ability to accelerate is to use vehicle weight / drive-wheel torque (max.
torque * gear ratio [4th gear, corrected to 1:1, * effective final drive
ratio, which includes correcting for tire diameter]) ... run your numbers
again this way and see if (how!) your conclusions vary.
