1990 V8 Quattro Idle Problem too

The idle stabilisation controllers I've looked at all share one feature - once 
the ISV is unplugged, the ignition needs to be turned off and on again before 
the controller will talk to the ISV again.  One of the side effects of this is 
that even a very infrequent intermittent break in the wiring will cause the ISV 
to malfunction frequently.
