Tech Question: Clutch replacement 4kq

I am getting ready to install a clutch in my 4kq. Is it easier to remove
the engine for this procedure  or remove the trans? I am also going to
install a timing belt, H2O pump, tensioner pulley etc. Just thought
someone might have some practical experience they would like to hare with
me. BTW I have an engine hoist and other necessary tools. What I don't
have is time. But I hate paying other people for stuff I can do myself. I
guess I'm cheap.8)
