Got burnt on my first (almost) 5ktq purchase.

I am bumming.

I've been lurking on the list for two years, learning a wealth of
information and saving up to buy a 5ktq. Finally found one I could afford,
told the guy I wanted it (I even helped him fix the hood release in his
driveway while looking at it) - we agreed on a price Sunday evening and I
told him I would go get the money and give him a call later. I didn't
leave a deposit because I didnt have anything on me at the time, and it was
clear between us that I wanted the car. Apparently someone came by just
after I did and had cash. He didn't bother to call me (I live 5 minutes
away) and sold the car out from under me.

Specs:	1986 5ktq
	140k miles
	dary, dark grey, (graphite? gunmetal??)
	black leather
	new rack
	excellent body
	needs bomb
smells like heater core is a bit leaky
	good manifold
	lifters a bit noisy

He listed it in the paper for $1895 although he said he would take $1500.
It was a great deal. So if the buyer is on the list, you got a good car
and the seller is an inconsiderate jerk.

I guess the moral of the story is don't trust anyone and carry lots of cash
with you.

Oh well...........so close..... :(
