A4 Stereo Decision

If you are considering buying an A4 and you are torn
between the "Bose" system and the stock one, here are
some tips.

Bose costs $1200. In addition to the built in
subwoofer, you get Bose spkrs, more wattage and a CD
changer. Reportedly, it doesn't sound *that much*
better and you won't be able to upgrade pieceparts;
the spkrs have built-in amps.

If you get the stock system:
-The car is prewired for the cd changer. There is a
DIN plug just sitting there waiting to be plugged
into the changer 
-the changer is $330 from Carlsen Porsche Audi. $295
if you got the car there; 15% less if you mention the
q-list
-spend $500 on Boston Acoustic Rally spkrs-4.5 with
tweets front, 6.5 with tweets rear. Very efficient,
much better sounding than stock
Total-$800. You still have $400 left over to put into
an amp.
