Crankcase Ventilation Hose

Hi listers,
      I haven't paid any attention to my 'exhaust?? ticking' noise yet, with
it being one of dozens of problems and nothing more than an annoying one(I
hope). But today it occurred to me that SINCE the noise seems to be coming
from the space below the ISV/battery area and my C.V.H. is not properly
joined at its base due to a sever in the original connecting rubber hose that
required a quick fix(a shortening of the rubber hose, which now just barely
reaches under the hose clamp on the metal tube, or C.V.H., and rests over the
base with help only from gravity), MAYBE(and this is only an uneducated
guess/hope/prayer), JUST MAYBE a noticeably loud exhaust ticking noise could
be coming from that improperly attached C.V.H.??  Please be gentle with your
replies, I know it's a long shot. ;-) Thank You.
