Defeating Gamma Radio Anti Theft Feature

I am trying to rewire my wife's '93 90csq gamma radio so that it will
turn on and off with the ignition switch. When I interrupt the power to
the radio it goes into the "safe" mode which it is supposed to do and
requires the entry of code to restore its function.  My problem is that
I don't want this to happen.  Has anybody figured out how to do this? Or
is this going to be yet another reason to go look at a Kenwood
replacement unit?
